RIB Racing

Dated: 21/09/2009

Great to see RIB racing returning to the UK - with this weekends BIBAO race at Lymington. Excellent event with 28 boats racing in four classes. One of the best events I have been to in a long time and such a good atmosphere, lots of happy people.

I raced our KR7 SportsRIB in the smallest class, F4. Mel Hatton who is aiming to form a Womens endurance race team was navigating. All was going well and comfortably in the lead of the class and ahead of many boats in classes above when we spun a propeller bush - so we could not finish. Still shows what the boat can do! The boat is up for sale and I would love to see her still race - and we would happily supply assistance to this end.

Otherwise much interest in Technohull race RIBs - in Greece and the UK as well. The final round of the Greek championships will be on the weekend of 26 / 27 September.

We are also looking at other sports / race RIBs for other manufacturers both in the UK and Europe. We have a design of a 30′ stepped hull RIB being produced very locally and again the possibility is there for a race version.

More details to follow - or enquire for more information.
